Lead Meteorologist
Alexandre is passionate about meteorology since its young age. He realised a first internship at Meteo France at the age of 13. Since then he specialized in oceanography and meteorology with a strong numerical pattern. After a PhD in numerical modelling of fine scale wind hazards at Meteo France research center (CNRM – Toulouse, France) he continues with a PostDoctoral project at Mines Paris – PSL on wind resources assessment. In the Observation Impact Energy research center he started working on solar forecasting. He’s been working on this subject for 10 years now focusing on data science.
Alexandre is an expert in geoscience data. He is a data scientist. His role is to determine impactful datasets to improve solar forecast accuracy. He sets up pipeline to integrate NWPs or Satellites data into NEXT forecast process i.e. select datasets and variables of interest, integrate it into the acquisition process of NEXT and validate their impact.
Alexandre obtained an engineer diploma in physical oceanography in 2007 and a master degree in numerical modelling from Mines Paris – PSL in 2007. He defended his PhD in meteorology in 2011. He’s been working on solar forecasting in various environment for the last 10 years.
