Thomas has been working as a research engineer for Calibsun since 2016. After a PhD in applied machine learning for power systems at PSL University, he designed the solar power forecasting algorithms in use at Calibsun. With a strong background in statistics and machine learning, he leverages on the latest innovations in these fields to improve Calibsuns products.
Besides bringing innovations to the core algorithms of Calibsun solutions, Thomas help maintain them and ensure quality of the forecast delivery in operational contexts within a team of both scientists and cloud developers, thus developing versatile skills.
Thomas’s research was published in many scientific journals including IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid (IF 10.1), IET Renewable Power Generation and Energies (IF 3.9 and 3.2). He regulary presents his latest research at scientific conferences. His latest achievements are the development of a hybrid forecasting model combining hemispherical cameras with the NEXT forecasting algorithm to address high resolution very-short term forecasts.
